Intellectual Property Law includes laws that protect the economic value of products and services that are the result of “mental work”. Intellectual property includes copyrights and other intellectual property rights.
Copyright refers to works that are already “born with inherent rights” by their creation. The protection is automatically ensured only by the presentation of the work and its making available to the public. There is therefore no brand respectively patent application or registration required. To enjoy intellectual property rights, in contrast, inventions, designs, trade marks, etc. must be registered.
